ACUPUNCTURE
Traditional Chinese medicine states that disease is a result of blocked qi (chee) or energy. Acupuncture promotes the free movement of qi through a system of energetic pathways called meridians. Acupuncture produces measurable shifts in the endocrine, immune, nervous, and circulatory systems, and is effective for a wide variety of conditions such as:  digestive disorders, immune dysfunction, gynecological conditions, stress, injuries and circulatory disorders.
Treatments may consist of a combination of Tui na, cupping, and heat therapy.

TUI NA: A style of massage designed to improve the circulation of qi and blood through the meridian system. It helps to relax stiff muscles, relieve pain and speed healing.

CUPPING:  A partial vacuum is created in cups placed on the skin by means of suction. This draws up the underlying tissues, bringing new blood to the surface, thus localized healing can take place. Cupping has been found to affect the body up to four inches into the tissues, causing tissues to release toxins, activate the lymphatic system, help activate and clear veins, arteries, capillaries, and the skin. Cupping is a great deep tissue massage.

EAR ACUPUNCTURE
Ear acupuncture is commonly used to compliment treatments for addictions, anxiety and weight concerns. The therapy involves stimulating specific points in the ear that correspond to various organ systems.  This helps to calm the nervous system and stimulates the body to return to a balanced state. The NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) five-point ear acupuncture protocol is used successfully in drug rehabilitation clinics. It has been shown to decrease:  cravings for alcohol and nicotine, withdrawal symptoms, anxiety, insomnia and agitation.

FACIAL REJUVENATION
Constitutional Facial Acupuncture is a safe, painless and effective treatment for renewing the face as well as the whole body. Fine lines may be entirely erased, deeper lines may be reduced and bags around neck and eyes firmed. Facial muscles are expressive, and acupuncture helps to release tension associated with emotions.
Fine needles are placed at a variety of acupuncture points on the face, neck and around the eyes to stimulate the body’s natural energy. Since muscle groups are addressed in addition to the acupuncture points, the face lifts itself via the acupuncture points, through the muscles’ toning and tightening action. The needles also stimulate blood circulation, which improves facial color.
  • Improves collagen production and muscle tone
  • Helps reduce bags and sagging tendencies
  • Helps eliminate fine lines and diminish larger wrinkles
  • Helps reduce double chin and lift drooping eyelids
  • Tightens pores and brightens eyes
  • Increases local blood and lymph circulation
  • Improves facial color
  • Helps problem skin (acne, rosacea)
  • Reduces stress and promotes total health and well-being

 NUTRITION
Proper Nutrition is the basis for optimum health and well being. Holistic nutrition is the modern natural approach to developing a healthy balanced diet while taking into account the person as a whole.  Food not only provides the energy needed to function in our daily lives but constantly supplies the nutrients which are required to build and regenerate body tissue, bone, muscle, fat and blood. The nutrients in food are also necessary to produce substances for the chemical processes that take place in our bodies millions of times a day.

PAIN
Acupuncture is an effective approach to treat pain because it decreases pain levels as it stimulates the body’s healing response.  Dealing with pain can be stressful and can wear someone down causing irritability, tension and insomnia. By relaxing the whole person, acupuncture also helps eliminate these other negative aspects.
Acupuncture helps reduce pain by:
  • raising endorphin levels and diminishing the nervous system’s pain response
  • decreases inflammation and swelling
  • relaxes muscles and stop spasms
  • increases circulation to the local area

WOMEN S HEALTH
Women of all ages can benefit from acupuncture care. Treatments can help to regulate the body, relieving cramps and PMS. Thus the menstrual cycle can be comfortable and regular so that it won't interfere with normal activities. PMS symptoms usually begin to disappear quickly with regular treatments. For women who are trying to become pregnant, acupuncture can help solve problems of infertility. After childbirth, acupuncture is very helpful in restoring and replenishing the new mother's energy. For women in menopause, hot flashes and night sweats can be greatly reduced to make this time of transition much more comfortable.

PREGNANCY
Pregnancy is an exciting and wonderful time. However, with the many physical and hormonal changes that occur, it can also be a time of discomfort. Many pregnant women suffer from fatigue, nausea, backache and other conditions that are considered a "normal" part of pregnancy.
